In 2010, I graduated from the University of Sri Jayewardenpura Sri Lanka with a B.S. in Mathematics (Special). I started working as a temporary instructor at the Department od Mathematics at University of Sri Jayewardenpura and also as a visiting lecturer at Open University of Sri Lanka for a year after my graduation.

I received an M.S. in Mathematics from the Southern Illinois Univeristy in 2013. I received the Ph.D. in Mathematics August 2017. I joined the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Appalachian State University in Fall 2017. I am married to Lasanthi Watagoda, who is also an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Department of Mathematical Sciences.
